Is it possible to produce your best work without being focused on a moment? No, it’s not. In today’s world focus would be easily measured as the highest priority habit.
However, the reality is different. We need focus regularly, but we lack that one as well, to understand the problem, we need to understand the reality of it, a better understanding will help us to improve our faults.
What is a focus?
How often you lose your concentration on your work? While you wish to complete the task thou you find yourself uninterested or not in the present moment, even you do fall into the track of procrastination. This happens all due to the lack focus.
Focus is ‘alertness’ and a skill to concentrate on your goal or in a task that you want to do on a particular time or day or even on a lengthy process as well.
Why we lose focus?
There are different kinds of factors works behind losing your focus some may start from your lifestyle or some may due to your desire. With some changes, we can easily overcome these issues, but you need to follow some rules. In this article, I am going to explain that.
Ways to Retain Your Focus Again
Limit Consumption: Consume affects our choice of life, if you consume negative thoughts you will produce negative works as well. How to limit that? Well; obviously depend on you; if you want, you can. Identify what are some habits you have that create negative effects in your life and try to limit that one or control yourself from that. When you will be able to limit those distractions, you will be able to retain your focus on one topic apart from those all unwanted fruits of life.
Try and Try Again: It’s impossible for anyone to master the art of control in one day; it will take a long time, but with dedication and proper following of habits you can master that. Just don’t let go the practice of good habits.
Daily exercise: Regular exercise will not only make you more effective in your work life and studies but also increase your focus. Exercise will help you become more productive and lessen the chances of feeling tiredness and increase your overall stamina and mental alertness.
Stop Multitasking: It would be easy to say for anyone to stop multitasking, but for an employee, it would be hard to follow as it is his/her primary duty and day by day it becomes a daily part of life. However, if you could be able to reduce the amount of work it would be helpful for you. Organizations should have needed to take care of these by themselves apart from making it impossible for the workers.
Breathe: Before you start any work, let the brain take some rest. Pick a place that is silent and peaceful and breathe in and breathe out awhile. Breathing exercise will help you let go the stress off your mind and retain the calmness inside you.
Live Mindfully: Mindfulness is the practice of living in the present moment. Practice that mindfulness into your life on an everyday basis. Living with present moment will help you let go of the unnecessary task and to focus on the present moment. It will also give you an awareness of your priorities.
“When you realize nothing is lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” – Lao Tzu
Eat Healthy: Let’s be honest bad food has been just killer, it destroys our plans. I sometimes go through these episodes as well. Only by avoiding some killer foods you can overcome a long way. Although you don’t need to live without foods as there are plenty of options available for that. For example, you can add green tea to your schedule; green tea will not only help you increase mental alertness but also reduce your unwanted fats.
Read More: Start a good habit of reading a lot. Reading helps you increase your concentration. If it is difficult for you to reading a long time; try to break that and practice it for short hours. Normally an eBook (Short books) that comes with kindly devices would be a great choice. There are plenty of free books available to start with your journey.
To-Do-List: Maintain a list of work that you will go through the day. To-do-list will help you to prioritize your work. We spent so much of our time into works that are totally irrelevant to us. These works lessen our concentration and productivity. A to-do-list can eliminate them for you.
“Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days.” – Zig Ziglar
Right Working Hours: Pick your working hours wisely. Everyone has his own style of working. Some people love to work in the mornings, where some people work at nights. Pick your high working times, when you feel more comfortable.
Maintain Cleanliness: Working places need to maintain as clear. Messy places distract your mind and also spared unwillingness and low self-esteem.
Keep Motivating Yourself: While it is easy to start some work and hard to finish, motivation work as an X factor there. Keep motivating you for the best possible result. Give yourself a reward for that; it would be anything, foods that you like to eat or a movie that you like to watch, anything that will inspire you or add a feel good feeling for the day.
The quality of our actions, whether they are positive or negative, depends on our motivation. This is why we have to transform our minds. – Dalai Lama
Avoid Negativity: Avoid any passing comment that seems negative. Negative words will distract your mind, be positive at that moment and finish your work; you can always review your work later. Remember negative things never change anything unless you take it into the heart.
