How well do you think the time matters in our life, and how you put yourself into that category when it comes to time management. Well, I know I belong to a place which has the worst quality when it comes to time management. And it hurts, but the truth is the truth, you just cannot deny it.
Our way of life is different, people are less concerned about time, and the best example would be the office hours, most shared and the general picture is to see people are running behind the buses, every day we hear about the accident that takes place. It became a general term to blame the government for that.
But let me ask you one question, if I give you a rating of 1 to 10, how well you will perform on that. If it’s less than 5, then it’s time to work.
So the question is what exactly time management is?
Let us start by asking a question to you. What would be the most expensive thing you can give to someone, whom you love the most? Is it money or it is a gift? No! Not at all. Am I right? It would be time because time is the most precious thing that you can give to someone. Time built relations and kills it too. So wasting the time would be the most foolish decision.
So time management is a smart act, through which we maintain our time in a way that we can utilize it to the fullest.
Do you know what is the secret behind a successful person, it’s their time, and how they manage it into that level which helps them to reach that spot.
You have your own time; you’re fully filled with qualities that require to be a successful person, now you need to manage it in a way that it can help you.
“Time is the most valuable coin in your life. You and you alone will determine how that coin will be spent. Be careful that you do not let other people spend it for you.”― Carl Sandburg
So How You Can Improve Your Time Management Qualities
Be Sherlock Holmes: First thing first, to improve anything, we need to know where and how we are making mistakes. To find that mistakes, we will start to maintain a journal and that journals tenure would be for one long week. We will write everything on it, starting from morning rising time to having breakfasts to a good night’s sleep.
What will we get from that? After one week we will have the raw data on our hand that we recurred to find our faults.
Now we know where we are making mistakes, it’s time to improve that.
The Million dollar question is how?
Maintain A To-Do-List: Start to maintain a To-Do list, plan your day from the beginning of it, if you’re still alienate, and out of time then rise early in the morning. Then you will have plenty of time to plan your day.
Set Your Personal Goal: Why you need to maintain a goal, because when you set a goal for yourself, it gives you motivation and a clear focus to do what is most important during that specific period.
I call it a two-way Process. One is to achieve the shorter picture, and another is to meet the larger.
Understand The Priorities OF Works: Concept is clear, not every work carries the equal importance in our life, every work has different priorities. Giving them equal attention can quickly reduce your productivity. Prioritize your job well, analyzes your work with the questions like why? What? When? Give your attention to those actions which have the highest priority.
Avoid Unwanted Distractions: Too much of doing anything is bad if it’s a good habit, though. Too much of doing exercise is also bad. So do social media also. These days our primary source of distraction is our Facebook and Twitter profile. Yes, the internet is good to get knowledge, but to an extent level, too much of it kills your precious time too. You can easily spend hours without realizing it.
Set a timer to do social media, Compare your present work with it, if it’s not worthy then leave it.
Stop Doing Multitasking: It’s a myth that a person can do a lot of work if he can do multitasking. Multitasking doesn’t work. It reduces your productivity and the quality of the work. Irrespective of that do a single work at a time. Through that way, you can produce your best work also.
Improve Your Concentration Power: A well sound mind with a high concentration power consumes a less amount of time in comparison with a mind which has less concentrated power.
How to improve your concentration? Do mindful meditation, practice yoga, and Pranayam regularly.
Organize Yourself Well: Ever felt that moment when you are restlessly trying to find your phone or television remote, and you’re not able to do so. It’s a perfect example of a disorganized person.
Organize your staffs. Clean up your desk, files, Setup also those important things aside.
Plan 50/10: 50/10 is a simple program. Work for 50 minutes at a time and then take a break for 10 minutes, through that way you will not lose your peace of mind and also the focus of your work. Without giving your body some rest, you will never be able to produce a quality product. Taking breaks is not a waste of time.
Live In The Present: Nobody knows the future, worrying about your future only brings you those times when you left your previous works. You started working on plans that might never be going to happen. Our best approach towards life should be to live in the present.
Be A Learner: Most of the time when people are conscious of their time, they only stopped doing new works, they thought that it would consume their time, but the story is different, your success always hides out of your comfort zone. So be ready for that always.
Be Energetic: Are you a night owl? Then it’s for you. Don’t neglect your sleeping times; take a healthy amount of sleep every day, at least, 6-7 hours. Better quality of sleep helps you to maintain your energy level. You can do works in less time in comparison to others.
