It is unwise to be too sure of one’s own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err.- Mahatma Gandhi
We heard this truth all our life; Being humble, kind, and calm is the “courageous work to do.” However, we are still far behind to convinced us.
The truth will always remain the same; humility, kindness, and calmness will always aid us to become successful in our life. Taking pride will always remain as the worst thing to do.
Those who have a kind soul in themselves and wise with the mind, they always prepared for being so small. Wise people always shows that they don’t know anything. Knowledge is like an ocean the more you go, the less you know.
As Mother Teresa described how we could practice humility in our lifespan
- Talk as little as we can.
- Do our own work.
- Don’t attempt to pull our legs into others affairs.
- Be less curious.
- Accept contradictions and correction cheerfully.
- Pass over the mistakes of others.
- Accept insults and hurts.
- Accept being slighted, forgotten and disliked.
- Be kind and gentle even under provocation.
- Never to stand on one’s dignity.
- Choose always the most difficult.
Research indicates that practicing humility can help you to progress in your business and as well as in your daily life.
For example, Yi, Amy Ou, an Assistant Professor at National University of Singapore, studied 63 companies in China and found that CEO humility “creates an empowering climate for both top managers and center managers.” Her research leads her to say an effective CEO is “a genius within a thousand geniuses.”
As Bhagavad Gita describes the war within, the struggle for self-mastery that every human being must wage if he or she is to emerge from life victorious
Life is like the sea of sufferings, and humility is about how to liberate oneself from the sufferings of life and the vexations of the human mind.
This implies that a person who is focusing on being humble should serve and not be attached to anything in life and this would help him or her to move away from negative psychological thoughts but to positive actions.
5 Ways to Deal With Your Pride
Give Up The Importance: The very first step that you could take is to give up the feeling of importance of yours; be a lite hearted soul and always prepare yourself to compliment others. Look the positive side in everyone’s life and ignore the negativity ones.
Focus On the Present: Always think about the present moment instead of the future and the past. Future and the past will increase your pride; live in the moment. Live with every breath; experience your moment of life whether it may seem good or bad.
Meditate Every day: I always have shown emphasis on meditation. Meditation could do miracles. Every day make a ritual of practicing meditation. Set a time frame for being in quiet place. Pick a particular time hour; for the first month it would be hard for you to continue; so you could start with 5 minutes a day and later you can increase it up to 1 hour a day.
Think Like Your Ideal Person: Do you have your ideal personality? Whom do you think you respect the most; for example, Mahatma Gandhi is considered as the global ambassador of non-violence; do you like him? If so set him in your situation and think like what would he will do if he is in your position and then take the decision.
Set Higher Goals: Man with low self-esteem and low-quality goals always take pride in their work as they know that they will not be able to achieve anything more and it’s their time to show off. Think ahead of this creepy goals and set your goals high; make a promise to yourself that you will achieve more and yet will show to the world how to live politely.
As Holly Bible Mentioned
When you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
